This educational, fact-finding opportunity focused on how a large, urban school district developed career pathways that create opportunities for all students to be successful in high school, postsecondary education, and the workforce.
Through presentations, interactive discussions, and three school visits, participants:
- Learned about the key elements necessary to build successful career pathways for all students;
- Saw the key elements of successful pathways in action in three high schools;
- Heard about the critical role of partnerships with school district leaders, postsecondary educators, and employers; and
- Examined how national, state, and local policies support or hinder the development of robust career pathways for all students.
This learning opportunity was organized for Congressional and Administration staff as well as staff from national education and youth-serving organizations.
