Meron Washington

Meron Washington is a junior at American University studying Public Relations with a minor in International Studies. She has joined the American Youth Policy Forum to be part of a team that is committed to values that she holds dear.

Meron was born in Ethiopia and has lived in Chicago, Indiana, and now Washington, DC. She is the founder of Every Girl Wears a Crown, an organization that works with young girls internationally. At her university, she is part of the Student Government, Student Union Board, and National Housing Association as the VP of Diversity and Inclusion.

In the past, Meron has been a Youth Advisory Member for the NYU MetroTech Research Center on School Equity, a Research Panelist for the Indiana University Center on Education and Lifelong Learning, and an Intern for the Indiana Council to End Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking.

In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, taking long walks, and immersing herself in art. She is eager to contribute her skills and experience to the American Youth Policy Forum and looks forward to a successful internship.
