Kenvin Lacayo, YPC

Kenvin Lacayo is a native of Washington, DC and a fierce advocate for equity. Kenvin is the son of immigrants from Central America and a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt Senior High School in Washington, DC, Class of 2017.

After high school, Kenvin was accepted to The Literacy Lab’s Leading Men Fellowship, then served as an AmeriCorps member with The Literacy Lab to continue his time in education.

In 2019 Kenvin was the recipient of the Samuel Halperin Youth Service Award presented by AYPF.

Kenvin’s advocacy and policy interests include education reform, mentorship, and youth empowerment.

Kenvin is currently the 7th grade Dean of Students at MacFarland Middle School in DC and sits on the board of We Will All Rise, a non-profit organization based in Baltimore, MD. Kenvin is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Trinity Washington University.
