On this webinar, AYPF and Afterschool Alliance heard from afterschool system leaders on how they are using data to support the growth and development of their systems.

Forum Brief and Resources- The New Forgotten Half: Those Who Pursue College But Never Earn a Degree A recent study, The New Forgotten Half and Research Directions to Support Them, commissioned by the William T. Grant Foundation, finds that many young people who enroll in college fail to complete their studies and attain a degree. This forum discussed the challenges facing students and the institutions that serve them, and talked about strategies to help the new forgotten half get ahead and achieve their potential.

Study Tour Report, Chicago, IL: The Use of Student Surveys for School Improvement This study tour provided participants an opportunity to learn about the use of high-quality student and teacher surveys developed by the University of Chicago and used in the Chicago Public Schools and throughout the state of Illinois. Participants examined efforts to implement the use of student and teacher feedback as a way to enhance school climate and the learning students experience.

Topics span the field of strategies which help prepare students for postsecondary education and beyond, including accelerated learning; dropout prevention and recovery; increased learning time; and federal, state, and local policy initiatives to name a few.
