Synopsis
The focus of “Looking Forward: School-to-Work Principles and Strategies for Sustainability” falls around a central question “How can we as a nation maintain the positive momentum of the school-to-work movement and carry on promising initiatives and best practices once the STWOA sunsets in October, 2001?” The report grew out of a series of discussions around this question, sponsored by co-publishers the American Youth Policy Forum and the Center for Workforce Development (Institute for Educational Leadership). Over 50 individuals with an interest or involvement in the national school-to-work initiative at the federal, national, state and community levels contributed to the report.
