Overview

The United Way of Greenville County and the American Youth Policy Forum (AYPF) hosted an Out-of-School Time (OST) Leadership Forum in Greenville, South Carolina on Thursday, May 24, 2018. This event provided an opportunity to acknowledge the positive contributions of community leaders and organizations in developing a system of afterschool and summer learning programs and prepare to reinvigorate the out-of-school time system-building work. The Leadership Forum served as a platform for a countywide conversation on out-of-school time system building, using lessons learned from other communities across the country and for seeking the input of local leaders on how to grow a sustainable out-of-school time system to help more children and youth achieve academic excellence and workforce success.

The American Youth Policy Forum (AYPF), a nonprofit, nonpartisan professional development organization based in Washington, DC, provides learning opportunities for policy leaders, practitioners, and researchers working on youth and education issues at the national, state, and local levels. AYPF’s events and policy reports are made possible by the support of a consortium of philanthropic foundations. For a complete list, click here.
