Description of Organization

Springboard Schools is a nonprofit network of educators dedicated to raising student achievement and narrowing the achievement gap. Working with education leaders on both the school and district level, we seek to transform schools into vital places to learn and to teach. We engage education leaders to develop, assess and use the knowledge needed for schools to create a systematic and sustainable improvement process. Springboard provides access to our best practices research of high performing, high poverty schools and districts, high-impact learning opportunities through professional development, on-site coaching, and a full menu of tools and resources for improving schools. Springboard aims to create a future for kids where quality public education is the norm and where race, class, language, gender, and culture are no longer good predictors of educational outcomes.

Projects and Publications

While Springboard’s primary role is supporting schools and school districts, we have recently taken on the new role of practitioner-researcher. Springboard's Research Department seeks to answer the question: What can we learn from the practices of high-performing high poverty schools and districts and those making progress toward the goal of closing the achievement gap? To answer this question, Springboard conducts research and translates that research into practical tools and strategies.
