YDI assists schools and community organizations, as well as partnerships among them to serve older and dropout youth. This work includes small grants, training and tailored technical assistance. Starting with the Young Adult Capacity Initiative in 2001 which serves 13 organizations, YDI has expanded this work, and is assisting the NYC Department of Education’s work in this area, and conducting intensive assistance to build pre-GED and college access programs for young adults.YDI is now completing a series of tools whichinclude detailed descriptions of practices, program models and lessons from the evaluation of this work.
