Our Staff

Andrea Browning is a Senior Program Associate at AYPF, and joined the organization in December of 2008. Andrea’s work focuses on high school reform, college and career readiness and youth development. Her most recent AYPF field trips and forums have focused on rural education, adolescent literacy, statewide longitudinal data systems, STEM education, and preparing students to meet the needs of the knowledge economy.
Before joining AYPF, Andrea was the Assistant Director of the Office for Policy and Communications at the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD), a non-partisan membership association for child development researchers. While at SRCD, Andrea managed the dissemination of research to federal, state and local policymakers, practitioners, and the public, and advocated on a range of policy topics related to children, youth, and families. Andrea’s commitment to improving outcomes for youth was solidified in her earlier work as a Community Liaison for the Boulder Valley School District in Broomfield, Colorado, where she served for three years as a case manager and advocate for youth at risk of high school dropout.
Andrea holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from George Washington University.
